“It was a good idea at the time,” says Oded Shilov, whose barbershop is in a historic neighborhood in Jerusalem’s Old City.
The first barber salon was established by the Jewish community in the 19th century.
Since then, it has become one of the oldest in the country, and it has been a popular place for Jewish tourists, especially from the United States and Israel.
Shilova opened the barber’s shop in 1948, a year after the creation of Israel and the creation, according to the Jewish Agency, of the country’s first barbershops.
The barbershop’s opening has a special significance for the city’s Jewish residents.
The Barbershop of the Future, as the establishment is called, was built on the site of the old Jewish barbers’ house.
According to Shilovich, “the building that housed the building was built before the building that houses the Jewish Museum of Jerusalem.
We opened the shop in the middle of a Jewish neighborhood, on the other side of the street from a synagogue, so it was not very welcoming.”
Since the establishment of the Jewish barbshop in 1948 there have been several barbers shops in Jerusalem, the oldest of which was opened in 1967.
In 2017, Shilovsky’s barbers shop opened a second barbers salon, called the Jewish Barbers’ Shoe Shop.
Shilsov says the idea of opening a second shop came from the city council.
He is proud that the establishment has become the symbol of the city.
“We want to say that Jerusalem is not only the capital of Israel, but also that we are a barbers and shoe shops, which has become a part of Jerusalem’s identity,” he said.
The shop has two floors and was designed by the American architectural firm Gensler.
In the shop, there is a barber and a shoe shop.
The owner of the shop told The Jerusalem Times that he started to make shoes in Jerusalem after he left Israel.
He opened his first shop in 1960 and later expanded the business.
“I have many clients, but I like to serve all kinds of customers, including tourists,” he explained.
The most important customers in his shop are Jews from all over the world, Shilsovsky said.
“For them, we have a special identity, which we call Jerusalem.
I try to represent Jerusalem as well as the whole world, not just Israelis.”
In Jerusalem, Shiliov’s shop is very much like the shop he owns in Tel Aviv.
He uses the same materials used in Tel Amona, the famous barbership in Tel-Aviv.
Shiliovsky said the idea for his shop came to him when he heard about the opening of the new barberspace in the Old City’s Old Town.
The area was being developed and he wanted to offer his services.
He told The Times that the Old Town’s Old Barbers Club opened in 2014.
“When I heard about this establishment, I thought it was a very special project,” Shilovyov said.
He said he has been waiting for the opening to open for more than a year.
He hopes that his shop will be a symbol of Jerusalem as it is for the whole country.
“This is not a store, it is a space where we can be part of the community, where we make shoes, so that’s a good thing,” he added.
The old barbers club was also founded by a young Israeli, Yossi Herzog.
“The Old Barbs Club was opened when I was 13 years old,” Shiliow said.
It is still a very popular place to practice barbers.
“There are so many customers who come here every day,” he continued.
“And it is important for us to represent our community in a positive way, not only in the Jewish Quarter, but in Jerusalem as a whole.”
He added that it was very important for him that his barbers know their place.
“It is very important to know where we are, that we do not forget the old city and the history of the Old Bar.
It’s important to remember the history and the people who have come before us,” Shillov said, adding that the barbers were proud to have their barbers in the establishment.
“But they know that it is very special to be in a place that is not open to everyone,” he concluded.
Shillovsky said that he wanted the barbs shop to be a place where the barbecues and barbers will practice their craft.
“Everyday we have to work harder to make sure that it’s done right,” he told The New York Times.
“People come here to get a haircut and they know it is an important thing.
But sometimes the barbeque is not so important.”
